AAIDF Smile, Veteran!™ Application
Opens Jul 10 2025 12:00 AM (CDT)
Deadline Aug 31 2025 11:59 PM (CDT)
Description

The AAID Foundation launched the Smile, Veteran!™ program to give those who have served our country the opportunity to meet with an AAID-credentialed dentist and receive dental implants at little to no cost.

Program participation is limited. The AAID Foundation is no longer accepting patient applications for the Smile, Veteran!™ Program for 2024. Applicants may submit their eligibility review and/or application starting in July of 2025. The Foundation is not accepting any applicants for eligibility review at this time. Check back here for the application once it opens in July, 2025.

This program is for veterans only and does not accept other types of patients. We understand the need for timely dental care and encourage you to reach out to other dental charities through which you might qualify for services. Here are a few to consider:

Veteran Potential Patient Participants

The application will open in July 2025. Veteran potential patient participants must complete eligibility review and submit required documentation before filling out an application.

The following steps are required before submission of Eligibility Review:

STEP 1  Contact an AAID-credentialed Treatment Provider

The veteran patient must see an AAID-credentialed doctor participating in the program to apply (name of Doctor will be required upon eligibility entry); You can use the "Find an Implant Dentist in Your Area" tool to locate AAID-credentialed dentists in your area. Not all AAID  members are program providers. Look for the Smile, Veteran!™ logo next to the Doctor's name:

STEP 2   Submit Required Documentation:

  1. DD-214 form showing honorable or general discharge from the Armed Forces;
  2. Proof of residence (utility bill or current bill with street address);
  3. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) summary of benefits letter clearly explaining any disability benefits received by VA.

STEP 3   Apply for Program Participation

If you are a veteran and meet eligibility requirements, your application will move to the next stage of the process. The next stage is completion of a full application for the program. Each completed application is reviewed and carefully considered by the selection committee after the application closes.

Program participation is limited. If selected for the program, you will be required to sign a release for a portion of your dental records and agree to have a medical check-up within 1 year of  joining the program by a personal physician responsible for medical maintenance beyond services rendered as a part of the Smile, Veteran!™ program.

The application will open in July 2025. The Foundation is not accepting applicants for eligibility review at this time. Submitting an application does not guarantee you will be selected for the program.

Dentists/Participating Treatment Providers

Treatment providers participating in the Smile, Veteran!™ program must adhere to the following criteria:

  • Treatment providers must be an AAID-credentialed practicing dentist (Associate Fellow or Fellow);
  • Treatment providers must be willing to provide their services pro bono, at no cost to the patient or program;
